Happy Pride Month from the

Southeast Recovery Learning Community!

Pride 1.png

This is a time for unity, resilience, and self-empowerment, honoring authenticity and the vibrant diversity of identities. Whether through advocacy, peer support, or simply embracing joy, we honor the journeys of LGBTQIA2S+ individuals and the power of the LGBTQ+ community.

At the Southeast Recovery Learning Community, we recognize the unique experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals, especially in mental health and recovery spaces. LGBTQIA+ individuals face higher rates of suicide, substance use and mental health struggles due to discrimination, ostracism, attempted erasure of queer identities, violence and suicide loss.

Supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals in mental health recovery goes beyond just offering resources - it means fostering safe, affirming spaces where they can navigate unique challenges without judgment. By connecting with peers who share similar experiences, resilience grows, and healing thrives.

Our LGBTQIA+ focused, peer-facilitated groups provide a vital sense of belonging, offering support and solidarity in facing the barriers that queer individuals encounter every day. In our community, every shared story and every moment of vulnerability weaves a tapestry of resilience and hope. We gather in safe spaces where judgment is left at the door, and only understanding, compassion, and genuine empathy are welcome.

Whether you are on your journey toward self-acceptance, in need of a comforting word, or simply looking to belong, we invite you to join us. In our LGBTQIA+ support spaces, your voice matters, your experiences are honored, and your true self is celebrated.
